Experience the Best Sleep of Your Life In a Hästens Bed

Hästens May Be the Last Mattress You’ll Ever Buy

“I’m Mary Pat Wallace, founder of The Luxury Bed Collection and a 30-year veteran of the design industry. I opened the first Hästens retail store in North America in 2005.  I call tell you that a Hastens bed is truly something special.

Prices for Hästens mattresses start at around $10,000, with mid-range models like the Iconic 2000T starting at $45,000.  High-end and bespoke models like the Vividus and Grand Vividus can cost $600,000 or more.

But the price you pay for Hästens bed is a long-term investment in your health. Our clients enjoy their Hästens mattress for 25 years or more. For some families, Hästens beds become heirlooms passed down to the next generation.

Come to one of our showrooms to experience the difference.”

Client Testimonial

“Spending the money on the bed is a no-brainer, really. It’s an easy one. You work so hard all day, you need that place that’s going to restore you so you can start over the next day…

How much was your BMW that you spend 1 hour a day in? If you’re going to do that, why wouldn’t you spend $30,000 on a bed. Our Hästens is 17 years old now… and you don’t notice a difference from day one.

Sleeping on these beds makes it hard to sleep on anything else.”

Questions Frequently Asked About Hästens Beds

What makes a Hästens bed different?

Hästens beds reflect a handcrafted Swedish heritage, and use natural materials like horsehair, wool, cotton, flax, and steel springs instead of foam or synthetics. They are also built as a layered sleep system designed for breathability, support, and long-term durability, which is one reason why they feel so distinct from a conventional mattress.

How do you deliver the bed?

We offer white glove delivery and installation of your bed anywhere in the United States.  We excel at precarious installations and can bring your bed wherever your home is or whatever challenges it presents. We have installed Hästens in urban lofts, on yachts, and even in private jets.

How do you care for a Hästens mattress? Do you need to rotate it periodically?

Caring for a Hästens mattress is simple but important to preserve its comfort and longevity. Because it is made with natural materials that settle over time, the mattress should be flipped over regularly for maximum comfort, typically every six months after the first year of use. It is better to flip the mattress top to bottom, versus rotating it 180-degrees. Hästens also recommends using a breathable mattress protector, gently vacuuming the mattress occasionally to remove dust, and avoiding excessive moisture. With proper care, the mattress will maintain its original support and feel for many years.

Is a horsehair mattress cruelty-free?

Hästens emphasizes humane sourcing practices.  Its horsehair is taken from the tails of horses. Hair trimmed from a horse’s tail will regrow and does not harm the animal. It’s much like getting a haircut.
